Kristle J. Small
Founder & CEO | Kristle J Small Counseling Group
Kristle Small-Williams is a Licensed Professional Counselor, mental health advocate, and passionate leader dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, particularly within Black and Brown communities.
In 2011, Kristle earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Temple University. Following years of education, clinical training, and hands-on experience, she obtained her professional counseling license and began building a meaningful career in mental health.
Kristle spent many years working in community mental health throughout Philadelphia, providing compassionate care to individuals experiencing depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. During this time, she witnessed firsthand the barriers many individuals faced when seeking quality mental health services.
As her career progressed, Kristle recognized a significant need for greater representation and culturally responsive mental health care within the Black community. She understood that many individuals were silently struggling and desired to connect with professionals who not only understood their clinical needs but also respected their cultural identities, lived experiences, and unique challenges.
Driven by this realization, Kristle transitioned into private practice, where she developed an even deeper passion for serving multicultural communities, challenging mental health stigmas, and normalizing therapy as an essential part of overall wellness.
What began as a personal mission soon grew into a larger vision: creating a space where individuals and families could receive compassionate, culturally informed care from a diverse team of dedicated mental health professionals.
That vision became Kristle J Small Counseling Group, a group practice built on the belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, understood, and supported throughout their mental health journey.
Today, Kristle leads a talented team of mental health professionals committed to meeting the evolving needs of the communities they serve. Through her leadership, she continues to advocate for greater access to mental health services, increased representation within the profession, and meaningful conversations that help eliminate the shame and stigma often associated with seeking therapy.
For Kristle, mental health care is more than a profession, it is a purpose, a passion, and a commitment to helping individuals and communities heal, grow, and thrive.
